ASSISTANT, ASSOCIATE, FULL PROFESSOR
(Speech-Language Pathology)

The University of Arizona Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences seeks a candidate for a full-time, tenure-track position (open rank) to begin August 2007. Candidates for appointment at the level of assistant professor must demonstrate the potential to develop a funded research program, and those eligible for appointment at higher rank must have a well-developed and funded research program. Responsibilities include conducting a research program consistent with the candidateÕs area of expertise, teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, and advising students.  Those eligible for appointment at the rank of full professor must also demonstrate university administration experience. The Ph.D. is required. Post-Doctoral Research Associate
Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences

The Aphasia Research Laboratory at the University of Arizona has an opening for a post-doctoral research associate.  Anticipated start date as soon as possible.  Post-doctoral associate will work with Co-Investigators, Drs. Steven Rapcsak and Pˇlagie Beeson on a NIH funded research project entitled ŅCognitive Mechanisms and Neural Substrates of Written Language Professing.Ó

The post-doctoral fellow will assume a leading role in structural and functional MRI studies, including experimental design, running fMRI experiments and analyzing data. Requirements include Ph.D. in psychology, cognitive neuroscience, neuroscience, speech and hearing sciences or related field and experience in conducting neuroimaging studies. The ideal candidate will have experience with lesion-deficit correlation studies and familiarity with image processing software, such as SPM and MRIcro. 

Ongoing research projects in our laboratory include investigations of the cognitive mechanisms and neural substrates of reading and spelling, and the treatment of individuals with written and spoken language impairment.
