Academy of Aphasia

Announcement

A special issue of the Journal of Memory and Language, under the guest editorship of Randi Martin, will be devoted to papers on disorders of language and memory. The goal is to highlight the implications for normal cognitive processes from the study of brain-damaged individuals and individuals with developmental disorders. Submissions on a broad range of topics will be considered, including (but not limited to): speech perception, single word and sentence comprehension (with either oral or written language), language production, short-term or working memory, autobiographical memory, semantic memory, and implicit memory. The papers should be oriented toward illuminating the nature of normal cognitive function through studies of disorders rather than delineating the cognitive deficits of particular impaired populations. All papers will receive peer review.

Inquiries, including questions about the appropriateness of topics other than those listed above, should be directed to the Guest Editor: Randi Martin, Department of Psychology, MS-25, Rice University, P.O. Box 1892, Houston, Texas 77251. E-mail: rmartin@rice.edu. Phone: 713-527-8101, x3417.

Submitted manuscripts should be sent by March 1, 1999 to Randi Martin at the following address: Editorial Office, 525B Street, Suite 1900, San Diego CA 92101-4495. Manuscripts should be prepared in accordance with the usual guidelines (see Information for Authors in any issue of the Journal of Memory and Language).
